The countdown starts as Mauritius is getting ready to welcome visitors without restrictions as from the 1st of October.
All you need is a negative PCR test taken in the 72 hours before departure and you’ll be free to move around the island, enjoying an awesome summer under the Mauritian sun.
Thanks to the successful ongoing vaccination campaign across the island, 812 177 Mauritians already had their first dose of vaccine, while 741 116 Mauritians had their second dose as well. Optimistic, the authorities are confident that with this progress, the country will be reaching herd immunity, and will be ready to welcome foreign guests by October.
Indeed, the vaccination roll-out is at full speed, as after AstraZeneca and Sinopharm, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is now being administered, while the Russian Sputnik vaccine adds to the list, and will also be administered to the citizens soon.
As of now, from January to June of this year, despite the quarantine restrictions, the island recorded 3225 arrivals in the country, mostly from Europe, India, and South Africa. However, the expectations for the end of this year are brighter with a much higher level of airline bookings.
